 - Do you explore other apps or websites other than doing your work or paying attention?

Coding Component
- Discuss coding and what it is.
 
Explanation:
Coding is the basic computer language that makes all electronics and software work. It tells your devices how to do what you want it to do. Examples of Coding: Video Game Creation, Websites, Robotics, Apps, audio, visual, etc.
Watch the Coding for Kids 1: What is Computer Coding? video as a whole group on your projector.
- Apps on the iPads (Light Bot & Hopscotch they should be pushed to the student iPads by the 10th)
- Using your Apple TV - project the Light Bot app as you work through the app as well. (HINT: Play Ahead of Time)
 - Introduce basic coding through a game format
 - These apps use the Blockly method of coding.
 - Blocky coding is a snap together puzzle piece form of coding.
 - Have students work through Light Bot to get a basic understanding of the process.
- Have students work work at their own pace.
 - There is music in the background use headphones or turn volume off while they work.
 
 
 
- Scratch Jr or Hopscotch – Students can explore more advanced aspects of coding
- Free form coding app – more of an open format – start from Scratch
 - They design their own environment and characters
 
 - For further interest – share Code website and Khan Academy

 - Intellectual property is the things you create (stories, art, music, ideas, etc.)
 - Official Registered Copyright and Trademark go through the Government.
 - Each type is protected by law, however registered ones are easier to prove.

 - Why is it important to give people credit for their work?
- Plagiarism
 - Do you want someone else to take credit for your work?
 
 - If you change someone else’s work without citing it, is that legal?
- You cannot change their work without permission
 - You can create your own interpretation of it, however you need to cite the original work.

 - Everything posted you lose all privacy, nothing is deleted and it is no longer private.
 - Even taking a photo on your phone and not posting it is still not private.
