Mr. Matt Warren

Mr. Warren is originally from Jamestown, NY and graduated from Frewsburg High School with an Advanced Regents diploma in 2007. From there he attended Jamestown Community College and graduated with an A.S. in Childhood Education in 2009. Mr. Warren next attended SUNY Fredonia and graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in English Adolescence Education. He then completed his M.Ed. in Reading Education at Edinboro University in Edinboro, PA. While at Edinboro, he achieved a 4.00 GPA and wrote his Master's Thesis on Twice-Exceptional Children, students who are gifted and talented but are also classified with a learning disability. He received his Professional Certification in English Language Arts 7-12 in 2017.

When not teaching, Mr. Warren hosts a recorded country music radio program on My Country, 101.9 FM WHUG in Jamestown, NY. The show airs every Monday-Friday from 12-3pm and Mr. Warren records a whole week of programs during the weekend and sends the week's shows back to Jamestown via email. He is also the In-Game Host and Game Day Operations Manager for the Jamestown Jammers collegiate baseball team (similar to the Wellsville Nitros). He also has had the distinct thrill of being selected as a contestant on CBS's The Price is Right back in 2007. Mr. Warren is an avid Buffalo Sabres fan, as any of his students will attest to, and also enjoys singing, acting, and reading aloud using funny voices.

The 2019-2020 school year marks Mr. Warren's seventh professional year of teaching English as he previously taught seventh and eighth grade English in both Peru, NY and Jamestown, NY before arriving in Wellsville. '19-'20 will be Mr. Warren's fourth full year teaching tenth grade English and tenth grade English Honors, and the third year of teaching his hybrid public speaking/acting elective "Speak Out, Act Out."
